Meet Dr. Angela Mineo, DNP, APRN

Founder and Autonomous Nurse Practitioner at Cheval Wellness

I’m Dr. Angela Mineo, a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with a passion for helping women feel like themselves again. My journey in healthcare began in my home state of Texas, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Baylor University. I spent eight years as an ICU nurse, including two transformative years caring for critically ill patients at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa.

Those experiences taught me the importance of empathy, precision, and treating every patient as a whole person — not just a diagnosis.

In 2016, I completed my Master of Science in Nursing at the University of South Florida, and later went on to earn my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in 2025 — the highest clinical degree in nursing. This advanced training deepened my understanding of preventive and integrative medicine and allows me to combine evidence-based science with individualized care for every patient I serve.

A Philosophy of Care Built on Time and Connection

Over the years, I’ve worked in both hospital and primary care settings, managing complex medical conditions within traditional healthcare systems. I quickly realized that rushed visits and insurance-driven care didn’t allow for what truly matters: time, connection, and getting to the root of each patient’s concerns.

That realization led me to found Cheval Wellness, a space where women and men alike could feel heard, supported, and empowered to take control of their health. Here, we take an unrushed, personalized approach to medical weight loss, hormone therapy, and metabolic balance — helping each patient restore confidence, energy, and well-being.

With the encouragement of my husband, family, and friends, Cheval Wellness has grown into the kind of practice I once wished for as both a provider and a patient: one that values mutual respect, direct communication, and compassionate care.

Autonomous Nurse Practitioner

In 2020, Florida granted highly trained Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) the ability to practice independently. As an Autonomous Nurse Practitioner, I meet the highest standards of education and clinical experience required to provide primary and wellness care without physician oversight.

This independence allows me to dedicate my full attention to my patients — listening carefully, crafting personalized treatment plans, and ensuring that every visit feels collaborative and meaningful. It also enables Cheval Wellness to offer a wider range of advanced therapies, from hormone optimization to preventive health care, all under one roof.

Advanced Training in Hormone Optimization

In addition to my doctoral degree and board certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), I hold Advanced BHRT Certification from Worldlink Medical, a nationally recognized leader in evidence-based hormone replacement education.

This specialized training provides the clinical tools to design safe, precise, and effective hormone replacement protocols using bioidentical hormones. My goal is to help patients improve energy, mood, metabolism, and longevity through personalized, research-driven care that supports every stage of life.
